Web Browser Displays the Message "Unable to Connect to Proxy Server"

Some viruses can change settings on your computer, resulting in changes to the functioning of your internet settings. If you receive the message “Unable to connect to Proxy Server” when you open a webpage, follow the steps below to revert the settings and return function to your browser.

Step 1. Navigate to your control panel and then to “Internet Options.”

Step 2. Navigate to the “Connections” tab.

Step 3. At the bottom of the page, locate and select LAN Settings.

Step 4. Make sure that the box next to “Use a proxy server for your LAN” is unchecked.

Step 5. Save the changes, exit the browser and open a new browsing session.
