Short answer: No — and that’s by design.
The StartMeStick is built to be stateless. It does not store any of your files or personal data. This is one of its strongest security features:
- Nothing to infect
- Nothing to lose
- Nothing to leak
But don’t worry — you can still save your files while using it on Windows/PCs (these file features are not yet available on Macs). Here’s how:
Saving Files While Using the StartMeStick
1. Use an External USB Drive (PC and Mac)
You can plug in a NTFS (Windows) formatted USB flash drive or external hard drive while you’re using your StartMeStick, and save files to it normally.
2. Access Your Windows Files (PC Only)
If you’re using StartMeStick on a PC (Windows computer), you can also open and save files directly to your existing drives and folders.
To do this:
- Open the StartMeStick File Explorer (Files icon).
- Navigate to the Home folder.
- Look for your Windows user folder (it appears as another drive).
- From there, you can read, edit, and save files just like you would on Windows.
This allows you to keep using your existing files — without the StartMeStick ever storing anything itself.
