In this article, we explain what to do if you do not wish to back up all your files. The article outlines how to select specific files and folders to backup using the FixMeStick with BackMeUp. Note: You must boot into a FixMeStick scan in order to use the backup function.

Once your computer successfully launches a scan in FixMeStick you will see the following screen. You may also see a prompt to register your FixMeStick with BackMeUp
1. Left-click the Settings symbol, which looks like a gear, in the upper right corner of the screen.
2. The following menu will appear on the left-hand side of the screen. Left-click once on File Backup from the list of options.
3. Under "File Backup" on the right-hand side of the screen, you'll see a section that says "Select the drives and folders you want to backup". You will have 2 options for how to select specific files for backup.
a) Manually select each folder or disk you wish to backup by left-clicking on the white box to the left of the disk or folder you wish to back up. A check (√) will appear, indicating that the folder or disk is selected for backup. To expand each disk to view more folders, click the plus (+) to the left of the white box, and more folders will appear. To hide these folders from view, click the minus symbol (-). Click Apply at the bottom right corner of the screen to save your selections.
b) Select certain categories or types of files to backup by looking at the options under "Select the types of files to backup from within the drives and folders selected above". All categories will be checked (√) by default. Left-click once on the check box located to the left of these file types to select or deselect any category of files you do not wish to backup, or select "all excluding the types not selected above". Click Apply at the bottom right corner of the screen to save your selections.
