In this article, we explain how to turn off the virus scanning function of the FixMeStick with BackMeUp. This will allow you complete a backup your files, without scanning the files for viruses. Note: You must boot into a FixMeStick scan in order to use the backup function.

Once your computer successfully launches a scan in FixMeStick you will see the following screen. You may also see a prompt to register your FixMeStick with BackMeUp.
1. Left-click the Settings symbol, which looks like a gear, in the upper right corner of the screen.
2. The following menu will appear on the left-hand side of the screen. Left-click once on Virus Scan from the list of options.
3. On the right-hand side "Virus Scan" title at the top, you'll see the words Virus Scan again in slightly smaller print. Click the button to the left of this text to stop the virus scan process. When the Virus Scan function is turned off, the button to the left of Virus Scan will be grey instead of black.
4. To return to the main screen, click on the arrow in the upper left corner of the screen. It now will say "Scan is currently disabled" under "Virus Scan" in the lower right corner of the screen.
