In this article, you will find steps that you should take in the event that when you attempt to open the FixMeStick application, a message appears on your screen saying "This mode of Windows only runs verified apps from the store."
Windows 10 and 11 have an "S Mode" that is a more secure version of Windows which exclusively runs applications that are available through the Microsoft Store. This can be very helpful when it comes to preventing viruses, as downloading applications from the internet can potentially be dangerous. You can run into problems, however, if you'd like to run an application that is not available in the Store.
Fortunately, there is an alternative way to start the FixMeStick in the case where you cannot start the application from within your operating system. Please follow this link to find the steps to start your FixMeStick from the boot menu of your device.
If you'd like to be able to start our application within your operating system to use the features our application offers (such as being able to update your FixMeStick for free) you can follow the steps in this Microsoft Support article.
Note: If you do decide to switch out of Windows 10/11 S Mode, you will not be able to switch back once the change has been made.
